Welcome to BodyWise, an AI-powered food scanner app that analyzes photos of your meals and shows how they may support or tax up to 13 areas of your body — such as your heart, gut, brain, and immune system — along with a Body Score, personalized AI notes, and trends over time. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our app ("Service"). By using BodyWise, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Meal Photos and Logs: When you scan a meal or log food via voice, barcode, or text, that content is uploaded to our servers to be processed. See Section 4 for how this data is handled and retained.
No Account Required: BodyWise does not require you to create an account or provide your name or email to use the app. A random device identifier is generated to track your daily scan limits and usage history.
Automatically Collected Information: Device type, operating system, app version, app usage, crash data, and IP address.
Payment Information: Subscriptions are processed securely through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

To analyze your meals and generate insights on how they may support each of the 13 body areas.
To calculate your Body Score and generate personalized AI notes and yearly recaps ("Year Wrapped").
To enforce free usage limits and manage subscriptions.
To analyze app performance and fix bugs using aggregated analytics and crash data.
To show ads to non-premium users.
To communicate updates or respond to your feedback.

3. AI Processing

BodyWise uses Google's Gemini models, accessed through Google Cloud Vertex AI, to analyze the meals you scan or log and to generate body-area insights, your Body Score, and AI notes. The contents of the photos and meal data you submit are sent to these AI services solely to generate your requested result. Your data is not used to train AI models.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Uploaded meal photos are stored temporarily on our cloud servers (Google Cloud Storage) only for the time needed to process and deliver your result, and are automatically deleted shortly after processing.
The insights, Body Score, and history generated from your scans are retained on our servers, tied to your device identifier, so you can view trends and progress over time.
Data in transit is protected using encryption.

5. Third-Party Services

BodyWise uses trusted third-party services to operate and improve the app:

These services operate under their own privacy terms, which we encourage you to review.

6. Advertising ID and Ad Personalization

BodyWise may access your device's Google Advertising ID (AAID) to support ad delivery and measurement for non-premium users. You can opt out of personalized ads or reset your Advertising ID at any time in your Android device's Settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads). Opting out will not stop ads from being shown, but ads may be less relevant to you. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Premium subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience with unlimited scans.
You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions.
You can request deletion of any data associated with your device identifier by emailing us at the address in Section 12. We will delete your data within a reasonable time after verifying your request.

8. Children's Privacy

BodyWise is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country (for example, in the United States) in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Medical Disclaimer

BodyWise provides educational wellness estimates based on general nutrition information and AI analysis. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional healthcare guidance. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your health, diet, or any medical condition.
